The events organized by the Centre included a 7-months training course on value addition of bamboo for sustained income generation of rural people, sustainable management of NTFPs, workshops on planning and layout of high-tech nurseries, workshop on Bamboo resource development and the utilization, leadership and team building in forestry, exposure visit to Madhya Pradesh, conflict resolution skills for forest managers, raising bamboo nursery and plantation, scientific conservation and development of fishery resources in forest water bodies in collaboration with various national level and regional level institutes of repute.

Among extension initiatives, the Centre published detailed information about NTFPs of Tripura in two volumes, a Status Report on Bamboo Resource Development and its Utilization in Tripura, a compendium on Management of Gregariously Flowered Bamboo Areas of Tripura, Proceedings of workshops on bamboo resource utilization, NTFP Calendar and information brochures, besides other publications
The Centre established a library in its office premises with important books and journals as reference materials.
Recently, NCE has started a theme-based NTFP Newsletter “MANJARI” for mobilizing attention to NTFPs and JFMCs among rural institutions.
